Breastfed babies lack vitamin D
There appears to be a downside to the growing resurgence of mothers breastfeeding their infants - some babies are now suffering from vitamin D deficiency.Researchers at Children's Hospital Boston conducted blood tests on 365 seemingly healthy babies and found 40 per cent of them had below optimal levels of the bone-building vitamin and 12 per cent were clearly deficient in the nutrient.
