Separatists get a wake-up call

QUEBEC -- The political winds in Quebec have shifted and they are giving separatists serious cause for concern. The Liberal vote collapsed and the Bloc Québécois support dwindled, allowing the Conservatives to make the most significant gains since 1988. Just as important, Tory Leader Stephen Harper has laid the foundations for an even greater potential breakthrough in the next election in predominantly francophone and traditionally nationalist ridings.
