Trying to make love and war in Afghanistan
Chances are that most Canadians do not understand the nature of our Afghan mission, perhaps because the mission's two parts are somewhat contradictory.The Martin government had told Canadians that the assignment in southern Afghanistan would bring casualties and other nasty surprises. Then defence minister Bill Graham went on a cross-country tour to prepare people for the worst.
