In mining battle, the cookie could crumble many different ways

The transaction has the financial press all atwitter. If Xstrata wins Falconbridge, the combined entity will be the fifth-largest miner in the world, according to the Swiss mining company's press release this week, though really, when you come right down to it, the phrase "Swiss mining company" seems rather oxymoronic.
