136 are set to run in council election

A large contingent of political hopefuls has signed up for Toronto's election race this November, leaving only four incumbents still to declare their intentions. So far, 136 candidates are running for 44 council seats and the mayor's chair on Nov. 13. Former councillor Ron Moeser, who narrowly lost in 2003 to newcomer Gay Cowbourne (Scarborough East), added his name last week.
