MPPs give the city some tools to shape its future
The province has formally granted the city powerful new tools to decide its own future, including the right to levy a limited number of new taxes. The new City of Toronto Act, a high-profile goal of Mayor David Miller, received third reading and royal assent in the legislature yesterday.
