Triangulation

Consider the triangle. As a human-devised form that does not, so far as I know, occur in nature (the "Triangle of Death" in Iraq does not count; nor do love triangles), it approaches aesthetic perfection. This was recognized early in the shaky experiment of civilization. Consider the theorem of 6th-century BC Greek philosopher Pythagoras. For those who have forgotten their high school geometry -- I blush to count myself among them -- it is a description of right-angled triangles: a{+2} + b{+2} = c{+2}.
