Not so blessed are Israel's peacemakers

JERUSALEM -- Peacemaking has never been so difficult for Gabriel Meyer. The 40-year-old Israeli co-founder of the Sulha Peace Project had to cancel the fifth annual August gathering of Jews and Arabs in central Israel because of the war in Lebanon. Not only was it unclear whether people could come because of the fighting, it was unclear whether Jews and Arabs wanted to come.
