Telus breaks ground for new Toronto tower
Breaking ground on a new tower in Toronto yesterday, Telus Corp. chief executive officer Darren Entwistle said the company needs to further build scale in its land line business and wireless operations in Ontario and Quebec before it will consider entering new markets. "If you move too early on those new markets, you dilute your focus, you dilute your resources, and your probability of excellence in execution is diminished," Mr. Entwistle told reporters. Areas the telephone company could consider for expansion down the road include a consumer land line business in Ontario and Quebec, or even international opportunities, he said. T (TSX) rose 3 cents to $61.65.
