Telecom Italia buys German AOL as row plays out
MILAN -- Telecom Italia SpA, the country's biggest telephone operator, agreed to buy Time Warner Inc.'s AOL Germany division for €675-million ($853.3-million U.S.) to gain clients and expand its fast Internet operations in Europe as part of a new strategic plan.
