New name needed?
Ottawa -- Michael Ignatieff has indicated his willingness to recognize Quebec as a nation within Canada (Ignatieff Rebound Raises Team's Morale -- Oct. 24). Certainly he has in mind the French culture, but Quebec is a geographical entity that already includes other cultures that are nations within the Canadian nation. To recognize the francophone culture as a nation within Canada, Mr. Ignatieff will have to come up with a name other than "Quebec."
