Screenwriter blues? Nope
Behold that rare creature, the happy Hollywood screenwriter. During a press conference at September's Toronto International Film Festival for his debut feature, Stranger Than Fiction, the ridiculously boyish Zach Helm shared the stage with Dustin Hoffman, Emma Thompson and Will Ferrell. You could tell Helm was the screenwriter because he had the smallest head -- actors, as we know, have Carnivale-sized noggins, and Helm's childhood nickname was Pea Head, so the contrast was sizable. Otherwise, he fit right in. The actors and the director, Marc Forster (Finding Neverland), talked to Helm with affection, they included him in their zesty patter. He was one of them.
