Toronto waterfront statues to honour Irish immigrants

At quayside in Dublin this weekend, a group of five bronze statues that are headed for Toronto next week will be shown to the public.The brief showing is highly symbolic, says Rowan Gillespie, the sculptor who made the grouping. The statues will be set in a new park at the foot of Bathurst Street to be opened on June 21 by Ireland's President, Mary McAleese.
