Witness recants testimony against terrorism suspect
OTTAWA -- The controversial system of security certificates used to detain non-citizen terrorism suspects has suffered another blow as a key witness against Adil Charkaoui recanted his allegations.The so-called Millennium bomber, Ahmed Ressam, wrote in a letter to the newspaper Le Journal de Montréal that he made false allegations against Mr. Charkaoui because he was suffering "psychological problems and great pressure."
