Oil riches can bring a soft life on the Rock

In Alberta's oil patch, a couple we'll call Oscar and Peggy work for big companies and earn big incomes. Oscar, an engineer, is 55. Peggy, who works in health care, is 51. Last year, their incomes totalled $228,000. Their children are grown, they have no debts, and they have almost $1.25-million in assets. They have sold their Alberta house and are planning a move back east to Newfoundland.
