Comfort food fit for Croesus

There is a new form of posh nosh: Four-digit food - luxe takes on such staples as pizzas, burgers and sundaes that demand you drop at least a grand.In March, Nino's Bellissima, a New York pizza place, launched a $1,000 (U.S.) pie topped with lobster and caviar. The city is also home to Serendipity 3's $1,000 (U.S.) Golden Opulence Sundae. And in Las Vegas, Fleur de Lys makes a $5,000 (U.S.) burger with foie gras, truffles and Kobe beef - accompanied by a certificate commemorating the patron's commitment to conspicuous consumption.
