PM backs trade talks amid rights furor

BOGOTA -- Prime Minister Stephen Harper defended his government's decision to pursue free-trade talks with Colombia despite persistent human-rights problems yesterday, saying it's "ridiculous" to stop economic talks until conditions are ideal.
