A picture of the future in 2017

By 2017, how will Canada's population be recognizably different than it is today?Within seven or eight years, and certainly within 10, the declining number of children in Canada (15 and younger) will be less than the rising number of seniors (65 and older). Based on current trends and projections, Statscan thinks the number of Canadians in both categories will reach about 5.4 million by around 2015. After that: more seniors than kids.
