Market turmoil yields its own rewards

Unlike many investors, fund manager Michael Embler finds the current market turmoil to be a rewarding experience.But then, Mr. Embler is a deep value investor."We are trying to buy company shares at a meaningful discount to intrinsic value and, clearly, opportunities to do that are caused by market dislocations, fear, short-term underperformance," said the chief investment officer of Short Hills, N.J.-based Franklin Mutual Advisers, which managed about $83-billion (U.S.) in assets as of June 30.
