Former financiers bet on sports site

Who needs finance when you've got wiki-fun. Two former senior TD Ameritrade chaps have launched a social networking sports site called crowdpicks.com. Jeff Murnane, who was the online broker's director of competitive intelligence, and Cassius Almeida, a senior product manager, have come up with what they bill as a first-of-its-kind Web-based application that allows site members to search the CrowdPicks prediction database to create user-defined, aggregate game score predictions for a variety of sports such as professional football, basketball, baseball and NASCAR. It is free to join.
