WINNIPEG -- Guy Maddin has made the film he thought he'd never make.My Winnipeg, which premiered this week at the Toronto International Film Festival, is Maddin's documentary farewell to his often maligned and misunderstood hometown, which he is now leaving for Toronto, in part to be closer to his daughter.
