Montreal band's album snares Polaris prize

Toronto -- Montreal's Patrick Watson band won the second annual Polaris Music Prize last night, a $20,000 award chosen by music critics, for the album Close to Paradise. With its atmospheric sound, as if coming from a slightly dark, slightly decrepit carnival, the band beat out such contenders as Feist's The Reminder and Arcade Fire's Neon Bible.
