Home Depot looks to smooth rough edges of its China foray
TORONTO -- Home Depot Inc. has been operating in China for just eight months, but already it is feeling the cultural gap, particularly when it comes to dealing with suppliers.The suppliers, rather than the retailer, have too much control over what makes it to the shelves, said Annette Verschuren, who heads the Asian and Canadian divisions for the world's largest home improvement chain.
