TIP SHEET: UPGRADE BOOSTS ABSOLUTE

Absolute Software Corp. stole the show on the Toronto Stock Exchange yesterday after Versant Partners upgraded the stock to "strong buy" from "buy," while maintaining its $40 price target.The stock climbed $1.80 or 6.1 per cent to $31.20 and bumped up against a 52-week high of $32.95 reached in mid-July. Already this week, the maker of computer-theft-recovery software nailed a contract with the U.S. government and expanded its relationship with Hewlett-Packard Co.
