After almost nine months of unsuccessfully searching for a well-heeled buyer to snap up the most expensive house ever listed in Banff, Alta., the mansion's realtor said yesterday the price tag has now been slashed by more than $3-million to $6.95-million.
The 10,000-square-foot home on the most prestigious street in the Rocky Mountain resort town was listed for sale - including all of its contents - at nearly $10-million back at the end of January.
Real-estate agent Eric Watson said homeowner LuAn Mitchell-Halter has decided to auction her furniture and art collection in March, donating a portion of the proceeds to the Mendel Art Gallery and the Banff Centre.
