Committee urges 9-per-cent rise in water rates
Water rates should rise by more than 9 per cent, Mayor David Miller's executive committee recommended yesterday, after city officials outlined plans to step up the replacement of Toronto's rapidly corroding pipes while encouraging people to use less water.
