B.C. has highest child-poverty rate, survey shows

VICTORIA -- The B.C. government is playing down the province's poor child-poverty performance, saying jobs for parents are British Columbia's best weapon against it.Despite record job-creation numbers in British Columbia, the province posts the highest child-poverty rates in Canada, a nationwide survey released yesterday reveals.
