VICTORIA -- Robert Nye has been an urban aboriginal for most of his life, far from the remote Cortes Island community where he started.As a child, he bounced around through different homes. He dropped out of school. He became an alcoholic at a young age. But one constant in his life was the grandmother who instilled in him a sense of place.
