Firms fear CD bungle will put proprietary data at risk
OTTAWA -- Ottawa has sent 138 CDs across the country containing confidential information that can be accessed with a few clicks of the mouse, federal officials said.Not only was government information compromised by the mistake at Public Works, but major companies are panicked at the thought that their sensitive information - including pricing and bid details - may have fallen into the hands of competitors.
