Victoria illustrator championed the downtrodden

VICTORIA -- Bob Bierman, the cartoonist sued for depicting a British Columbia cabinet minister plucking the wings from flies, has died. He was 86.The Dutch-born illustrator was a champion of the poor and downtrodden.
