Ethanol producer battles mounting skepticism

OTTAWA -- Amid a growing food-versus-fuel debate, the head of Canada's largest ethanol producer defended his embattled industry yesterday, arguing that rising ethanol use has had only a modest impact on food prices and is actually serving as a brake on the skyrocketing cost of gasoline.
