Too-tall load smashes into overpass, sends concrete onto the 400

For the second day in a row, a mishap has sent chunks of concrete from an Ontario highway overpass falling onto a busy road. Shortly after 8 a.m. yesterday, a flatbed truck carrying a tall load struck an overpass on Highway 400, about 20 kilometres south of Barrie. The backhoe on the truck's flatbed was too tall to pass underneath the four-metre-high bridge, according to the Ontario Provincial Police, tearing a three-metre by 30-centimetre gash in the overpass.
