EasyJet loss triples on rising fuel costs
Budget airline easyJet PLC said yesterday that its losses in the first half more than tripled as rising fuel costs outweighed a 24-per-cent jump in revenue. The company reported a loss of £43.3-million ($85.3-million) in the six months ended March 31, compared with a loss of £12.7-million in the same period a year earlier. Revenue rose to £892.2-million, including a 17-per-cent gain in passenger revenue to £751-million. EZJ (London) rose 9¼ pence to £3.06¾ ($6.05).
