General Motors Corp., Ford Motor Co., Honda Motor Co. and Nissan Motor Co. said there was no immediate damage to their factories in China from earthquake in the country. Ford's factory in Chongqing in Sichuan province continued operations as normal, according to spokesman Kenneth Hsu. GM's factory in the neighbouring province of Guangxi was also undamaged, said spokesman George Yang. The earthquake struck about 350 kilometres west-northwest of Chongqing. Toyota Motor Corp. cancelled a shift at its factory in Chengdu and was to cancel today's morning shift. Honda and Suzuki Motor Corp. factories in Sichuan province were unaffected by the quake, the companies said. Nissan's three factories in the country were undamaged, according to spokeswoman Haruko Wada. GM (NYSE) rose 47 cents (U.S.) to $20.76. F (NYSE) rose 5 cents to $8.15. 7267 (Tokyo) fell ¥40 to ¥3,170 ($30.68 Cdn.). 7201 (Tokyo) fell ¥15 to ¥930 ($9).
