A construction worker was killed yesterday when a metal pipe fell 20 storeys, slicing through his hard hat.
Emergency crews arrived at 825 Bay St., the site of the Murano South Tower condominium project, shortly after 3:30 p.m. to find the man lying on the ground, bleeding from the head.
Toronto Police Sergeant Frank Pantaleo said the pipe fell from the 23rd floor and struck the man, a plumbing supervisor, while he was standing on the third floor.
The man, whose identity was being withheld until family could be notified, was pronounced dead at the scene.
The Ministry of Labour is investigating.
