Israeli PM given envelopes of cash, American testifies
JERUSALEM -- After weeks of suspense in Israel, a key witness got on the stand of a packed Jerusalem courthouse yesterday and testified that he had handed envelopes stuffed with thousands of dollars in cash to Israeli Prime Minister Ehud Olmert. In long and detailed testimony, Jewish American millionaire Moshe Talansky said he gave about $150,000 to Mr. Olmert over a 15-year period, but that he expected and received no favours in return.
