It's more akin to Mother's Day than we knew

This has to be the first story ever to appear in The Globe and Mail that begins with a correction.I had it wrong.I was one of those who believed - erroneously, it turns out - that Father's Day was some cynical, opportunistic, manipulative, self-serving invention by Hallmark Cards or Wal-Mart, Canadian Tire, the beer stores ... and anyone else with a vested interest in pretending fathers deserved something special at least once a year.
