Leader didn't brainwash recruits, court hears

BRAMPTON, ONT. -- A youth accused of participating in terrorist activities defended the alleged ringleader during a police interrogation, saying he was a spiritual mentor who never brainwashed recruits. The alleged ringleader of the group has been characterized by the Crown as a charismatic emir who spewed jihadi rhetoric to justify plans for storming Parliament with AK-47s and machetes, and attacking major government buildings.
