Toronto -- Your editorial Not Just Furniture (July 19) misreads a statement from Clayton Ruby, but raises a fascinating paradox at the heart of the animal-rights movement. In comparing the animal-rights movement to gay rights 25 years ago, Mr. Ruby meant that the former is emerging from its special-interest niche.
