Battle for TNK-BP ties U.S. chief in red tape

Robert Dudley, who has headed TNK-BP from its inception, pledged to give Russian authorities proof of his employment while BP PLC's billionaire partners seek to dismiss him in a battle for control of the oil venture. The authorities assured Mr. Dudley last week that he could work through July 27, the U.S. oil executive said in comments e-mailed yesterday. He was issued a 10-day transit visa before his work visa expired July 19.
