Bike unit a smooth ride for Dorel
Dorel Industries Inc. is betting big on bikes - and it appears to be paying off. The Montreal-based manufacturer of strollers, car-seats, assemble-at-home furniture, mid-market bikes and, as of this year, high-end Cannondale racing cycles, announced yesterday that its profit for the second quarter of 2008 had nearly tripled year over year, to $31.3-million (U.S.) or 94 cents a share.
