Sleeman nabs Quebec microbrewer

Sleeman Breweries Ltd. said Tuesday it is buying Quebec microbrewery Unibroue Inc. for about $31-million in a deal it says leaves it well positioned for future growth in that province.
The Ontario brewer will also assume $5.5-million in debt as part of the transaction.
“The acquisition of Unibroue and its premium rands will complement Sleeman's current portfolio, in addition to providing he required infrastructure to expand our presence in Quebec.
