CBC set to re-sign Cherry
Instead of showing him the door, the CBC is planning to show Don Cherry a new contract.Sources confirmed yesterday that the Hockey Night in Canada star commentator will return for another season, perhaps even two, after assuring the network he will be a good citizen and steer clear of politically incendiary remarks.Cherry met with Nancy Lee, the head of CBC Sports, on Tuesday. According to insiders, the meeting went well.
