Federal sponsorship cash rented Habs luxury suite

From Tuesday's Globe and Mail

Ottawa — An advertising firm used federal sponsorship money to rent a $100,000 luxury suite at the home of the Montreal Canadiens during the 1998-1999 hockey season, according to documents released at the Gomery inquiry yesterday. The documents also say that the lead bureaucrat on the sponsorship file at the time, Chuck Guité, made 38 one-day trips during that year from Ottawa to Montreal "to meet communications agencies.
