Officials say ISU president ignored rules

Canadian pairs skaters Jamie Salé and David Pelletier should have become the sole Olympic champions if International Skating Union officers had followed their own rules at the controversial Salt Lake Olympics in 2002, according to two top officials.
Salé and Pelletier had their silver medals upgraded to gold after French judge Marie-Reine Le Gougne admitted she had been pressed by her federation president to vote for Russians Elena Berezhnaia and Anton Sikharulidze over the Canadians.
