Pot use jumps in past decade, study finds

Ottawa — A major new study suggests marijuana use in Canada has doubled over the last decade. The Canadian Addiction Survey reports that 14 per cent of respondents used cannabis in the last year, up from 7.4 per cent in 1994. Overall, 45 per cent of respondents said they had used pot at least once in their lifetime. That rose to 70 per cent for those aged 18 to 24.
