Canadians' love affair with electronic gadgetry shows no sign of lessening, with a new report showing that spending on cellphones, cameras and high-speed Internet surged in 2003 and that millions more households bought DVD players. Spending on film processing has dropped, meanwhile, a change that researchers at Statistics Canada believe reflects a growing use of digital cameras. Overall households spending is up only 1.
