Do I really need Quicktime running all the time?

Globe and Mail Update

QUESTION: I would like to know if I need Quicktime to stay on all the time, as I don't use it. I have Windows Media Player and Winamp to do audio or visual items.

Thanks

Pat R

ANSWER: No, you do not need to leave Quicktime, or any other player software running all the time. You can adjust the settings or options to tell the programs to only load when you play media requiring that program and not to load on Startup.
