Ottawa unlikely to mediate: Dryden

Former National Hockey League goaltender Ken Dryden, now a member of Parliament, doesn't see a mediator's role for the federal government in the labour dispute between the NHL and the NHL Players' Association.
There has been little progress in ending the NHL lockout, with a salary cap remaining the fundamental issue. The players are opposed to a cap, while the owners have said they will settle for nothing less.
