Free dailies grab share

Free commuter dailies have gained a substantial number of readers in Canada's two largest cities, at the expense of some traditional newspapers, readership figures show.
Over all, however, newspaper readership across the country remained stable between 2003 and 2004, new numbers from the Newspaper Audience Databank Inc. (NADbank) show.
In Montreal and Toronto, the free dailies Metro and 24 Hours/24 Heures have made substantial gains in readership.
